Hi, I’m
Ms Dhirah.

Teaching, tech and things worth knowing.

Mostly useful. Occasionally just interesting.

LATELY

Trying AI tools, making things clearer, and still wondering why nobody reads the instructions the first time.

Things you might actually use.

Not official module materials. Just things worth having nearby.

Personal resources and recommendations from Ms Dhirah. Official lesson materials still live in the usual places.

Things worth keeping.

Nothing here yet.

For once, I am not adding filler just to make the page look busy.

One hour.
No module notes.

CARE gives us a little room for the things that do not fit neatly inside a subject.

School

Sometimes the problem is the work. Sometimes it is everything around the work.

Work

Internships, interviews, workplace habits, and the things people usually learn slightly too late.

Life online

AI, scams, privacy, digital footprints, useful tools, and the occasional bad idea.

I’m Hadhirah. Most of you will probably know me as Ms Dhirah.

I teach Business and IT, and I’ve been working in education in one form or another for quite a while.

At ITE, I currently teach Higher Nitec in IT Systems & Networks. Before that, I taught Web Applications and Nitec in Business Services. Somewhere along the way, business gave way to code, networks, AI and an unreasonable number of browser tabs.

Earlier in my career, I worked across a few different education settings, including a polytechnic, an international school and private education. My work covered student support, academic operations, communications, events, websites, school systems and the many behind-the-scenes things that keep an institution running.

These days, the job is rarely just lessons. There are students to advise, internships to sort out, industry partners to work with, projects to try, new technology to figure out, and the occasional problem nobody ordered.

I like technology most when it is useful. I’m usually trying a new tool, figuring out whether it is actually any good, or saving a link I will probably send to someone later.

This site is partly for students and partly for me. A place to keep useful things before they disappear into another chat.

You can reach me here.

Students, if it is about your course, the usual channels will reach me faster.
